In 2016, I placed stenopeic cameras made of soda cans and photographic paper in several places all over Oaxaca city. This was done with the intention to capture the sun’s movement. Not until 2018 did I collect my cameras back. During this time, there were two major earthquakes in Oaxaca, this rearrangement of the land is quite evident in several of the resulting solarigraphs, since a double exposure on the ground is very noticeable in some of the photographs. There were very radical changes in my life as well. I lost 30 kilograms because I decided to, I used to drink 2.5 liters of soda daily and I decided to stop. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety and during this time I told myself it was time to get some help so as to get better. All of these events could have happened any other day, but they did exactly at the same time the sun was being photographed by my home- made cameras.
The outcome of these photographs was as unexpected as any other uncontrolled chemical effect or even, as unexpected as life itself.
